Tracker: Regulator queries Burnley’s parent after strike-off notice

The Football Capital Tracker · Event date: 29 October 2026 · Event type: Litigation or regulatory · Last updated: 1 November 2026

What happened

Companies House has issued a compulsory strike-off notice, dated for 3 November 2026, to Velocity Capital (UK) Holdings Ltd (14755517), the ALK Capital vehicle that controls Burnley FC Holdings. The company was incorporated in March 2023 and has never filed accounts; its first accounts, to 31 March 2024, were due by 24 December 2024. An Independent Football Regulator spokesperson told the Burnley Express that the regulator is aware of the notice, has requested further information from the club and is in active discussions with the EFL. ALK says its advisers are in contact with Companies House and that it expects to file in the coming weeks (Burnley Express; ALK response; Companies House).

Why it matters

This is the second strike-off notice for the same company; the first, in February 2025, was discontinued within a month. Administrative lapses at holding-company level are common. What is new is the regulator’s response: the IFR has stated on the record that it is engaging over an unaccounted-for entity above a licensed club. With lender security sitting at that level, the source and terms of the funding that controls Burnley cannot be read from the public record. The owners’ test is only as strong as what the regulator can see above the club, and Velocity is an early, direct test of it.
