  1. Oh what a woeful display again. Having “done the tour” of Goodison Park I was so looking forward to an exciting, free flowing game to round off a fabulous final visit.
What we were all served up was a back to “the big boot and hope” excuse for a football match. Outplayed and outhought.
A game plan, as you say Paul, to entertain the fans, just isn’t in the mindset or ability of the current Manager. To be just drifting along getting a point here and there and an occasional win in our final season at Goodison Park is a tragedy. The players do have the ability but not the collective mindset or guidance to win .
To round off the visit we were taken to “The new Stadium “ it looks fantastic, seen through some of the gates that were open. I so look forward to going back next year in my 85th year – I’ve been through the Good and Bad times with this wonderful Club.
    Come On You Blues

  2. If ever there was a podcast to initiate debate….As a season ticket holder attending every game so far this season I can inform George that past games from the ‘glory days’ are played on the big screen before games. As has always been the way tho the ground is fairy quiet when this is done. I tend to agree with all you say about Dyche but whilst we leave him limbo over a contract I could understand if he is currently not as motivated as we would like. The saying sack him or back him springs to mind. I was really, really disappointed with the discussion on season tickets. One of the best things about Everton is it’s connection to the community and it’s history. Yes we sold ourselves to the premier league like every division 1 team but I like to think that we never sold our soul, history and footballing morals as many others did. We don’t have a stadium full of tourists as some clubs do. We haven’t had to resort to the birth of a phoenix club, as yet. However, if the club were to go full business, premier league, American mode as it appears you wish I suspect it would be the straw that broke many evertonians backs. You then wouldn’t have to worry about that bramley Moore capacity as it will only be half full at best. Of course loyal, season ticket holders, many with 25 years plus should get a healthy discount and long may it continue!!!

  3. Great podcast as ever, thanks. Don’t totally agree with you about season tickets Paul, but certainly, if Andy is paying £21 a game on average as a STH, but the person next to him is paying £50 odd as a walk up supporter, that’s not right. Also, while I understand the fuss about the capacity, it’s not a massive deal, given everything else that’s wrong. 53,000 is decent, and the stadium looks magnificent. It’s about making it the noisiest, most intimidating ground to play at for the opposition that counts, which I’m sure it will be. On Dyche, he’s hugely limited, which is well documented, but I think he actually loathes Everton fans. There’s plenty of evidence for this
He picked Keane over Braithwaite for one reason only – coz he knew it would wind us all up. The sooner he’s gone, the better. Finally, what about an away season ticket? I’d definitely pay a premium for one of these.
