From Andy, George and myself – thank you for every single listen, every comment, every criticism, every bit of support.

We have loved podcasting over the last six years, some of the most difficult years in Everton’s history – above all else we have loved our audience – thank you all

  1. I write first and foremost to thank you all for many, many hours of great entertainment, insight and fun as you joined us all in your post match pub banter. I absolutely share your frustration of the ‘Premier League’ age and focus on driving the business and maximising cash instead of cherishing the principles of sport. I am fed up with VAR and the constant stop/start nature of football, frustrated by blatant cheating, depressed by referees, or to be more accurate, PGMOL who believe they are there to shape the game, manage the spectacle, for the world wide TV couch audience and stuff the poor sods in the stadium. Referees as pundits now! No … they are only there to uphold laws… end of! I tend to believe that those frustrations have only been exacerbated by the shit show of our beloved club in recent times. It has really made us all very bitter and just as guilty as George feels of moaning to the point that we are sick and tired of our own negativity.

Take a break, or consider a less onerous monthly podcast but if this is the end know this …. you have broadcast the views and feelings of the common man and we have enjoyed the ride immensely. NSNO.

      • Thanks for all you content , I’ve really enjoyed listening to the three of you,
        Passionate , funny and intelligent.
I will miss my weekly debriefs.
Thanks also to Paul for his his incredible and not always appriciated work.
        Take care guys UTFT X

  2. Gutted that TTB has ended. Had hoped tonight’s episode was a late, lame April Fool but alas no. Then again, must agree with every syllable, word and sentiment spoken tonight. Long live Everton Football Club. Long live Evertonians. RIP Football.

  3. I hope this isn’t the end, you guys and the royal blue cast are part of my week, truthfully you guys are so honest and real, your true feelings come through every week, the in-depth of explanation of Everton financial woes were eyes opening ( especially around the loans and legal cases re 777) you guys are true gents and true blues. All the best guys.

      • Respect, only been a week since the bombshell, im still hoping for a comback , can you just see the season through and make the transition easier then stop so cleaner , you are real and not linked to media and so far you re freshing, , but you have to do what best for you three of course, respect to all three of you

  4. I enjoyed going down the virtual pub with my virtual mates: Andy, George and Paul. It wasn’t always as frequent as I’d have liked, I was beginning to think we were turning the corner and due some light relief and entertainment from the boys down Goodison / Bramley Moore Dock and finally some success after the dark times of Moshiri and the various vampires he employed.

During those dark times talking the blues kept me going we all had a moan, a think and a good old natter. George always had a tendency to cut through no matter how bluntly and say what we all thought – he’d normally get his coat and one of us would say let’s get you a bag of nuts / crisps you always feel better then and the discussion would continue.

Andy would lose his rag and always have something to say about what irked him that week or more specifically the numerous things that had sometimes causing George to get up and go for a virtual pee because he felt triggered.

Then there was Paul steady and knowledgeable always had something to bring some hope, something he’d heard or some nugget he’d been thinking about – many might have disagreed – but he always talked sense and was always right.

Sundays / Mondays wont be the same or a Wednesday every now and then. Look after yourselves lads and hopefully I’ll see you soon – must be my round.

  5. Really sorry to hear this last podcast! Really enjoyed listening to you guys over the past years ,(has it really been 6!!!) .
I completely understand George’s frustrations with the modern game, so many people I speak with feel exactly the same and it is a brave decision to step away and takes a strong person to do so.

I wish you all,the very best going forward , I will continue to follow Paul’s website and Esk personna articles and hope the occasional podcast will appear.

    Never say never !!!
    Thanks and best wishes Guys.
    NSNO !

  6. I sympathise with George’s view of the modern game. A colleague of mine is a Leeds fan who tells me the thing that concerns him most about possible promotion to the Premier League is VAR – he tells me that watching football in the VAR-free Championship is far better as you only need to glance at the linesman before deciding if its safe to celebrate a goal. Indeed Ben ‘The Red’ Kent was making the same point on Radio Merseyside on Monday event (and he follows a successful team).

That aside, thanks to you all for the time and effort put in to delivering what has been a great listen. Can’t believe its been six years.

Like Paul B, I hope you guys will re-convene perhaps for the occasional Christmas Special or end-of-season review. But you’ve left us wanting more – which is a good time to depart the stage.

  7. A sad end to a ‘family’ podcast for us Evertonians. Not really a lot to say other than ‘ thank you’ George, Andy and Paul for taking the time to enlighten and entertain us with your knowledge and thoughts.
I agree wholeheartedly with your frustrations George, such that I never have the commentaries “on” when watching a match on tv, my despair at VAR, (the ruination of a simple game) and the blatant cheating which seems to have become acceptable. Shame.

Never the less, born an Evertonian is something I have always been very proud of and as
I now have a plaque at Bramley Moore stadium, I’ll be a supporter for a few more years yet !

Thank you gentlemen ( but I will watch out for a Christmas Edition ?. ) 😜

  8. Boys Thank so much for thinking what we all think and believe we have lived through the frustration the anger the pains but mostly your thoughts and humour I Will miss you boy’s ❤️

  9. Well in terms of how long the podcast has been going I’m relatively new to it – the last two years or so. I was first drawn to the podcast after engaging with Paul via that awful Twitter platform. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, there’s always some great talking points, always a contentious comment, a rant or two….or three, but that’s the beauty of it.

I don’t think I’ve ever agreed with everything but I really don’t think I was supposed to.

What I can say is that I’ve looked forward to it every week, listened with intent, laughed, howled, moaned and ranted myself. I can’t say I disagree with any of your combined rationale for ending it, it’s just a great shame.

Like others I hope you make a comeback.

I don’t think all of of your issues will ever be resolved but I do hope that the emergence of Notts Forest, Villa and one or two others (I hope to include EFC in that this time next season), will allow for a more competitive league. It would also be good to hear your reflections on how BMD settles in so perhaps you can do the odd special.

As for Paul, just today a caller asked John Blain and the Toffee TV crew if they could get him onto their channel. The lads (John was present) were very positive and hoped they could convince Paul to make an appearance sometime soon. Perhaps it’s time Paul?

Whatever happens, I wish George, Andy and you Paul – every happiness, success and fulfilment in your future ventures.

Remember – “once Everton has touched you……” here’s hoping you remain “touched”.

You have most definitely contributed to the debate, you have most definitely contributed to the fight to return EFC to respectable owners, a respectable status and new beginnings.

Thanks for some great entertainment fellas. UTFT!

    Best regards,

    Keith

  10. To Paul..thank you for your financial explanations and foresight of the dreadful management of Everton FC…you where right all along!
To Andy..thank you for your enthusiasm about football and your comments about decline of the principles of our once lovely game.
To George..thank you for what you put into words on this podcast which made me realise I’ve had enough also.

Whilst watching the Arsenal game it reminded me of a game we kids played, ‘who falls best’ in cowboys and Indians.
To disrupt the game Arsenal players constantly fell over, that ain’t football ! The final straw for me.
    Adieu my friends. Maxwell Johnson

  11. First discovered you in deepest remote New Zealand sitting in my car in the rain outside the laundromat, could believe that three fellas thought exactly the same as I was thinking, followed you ever since, but when you’ve had enough, it’s always better to walk away with your sanity intact.I you have all said many times , it’s just not the same as it was and could never be!it’s just boring watching men being paid $200,000 pounds a week rolling around and cheating. Thank you all so much for the laughs and comments that cheered up my week even when I was utterly convinced the championship or worse beckoned.
I wish you all the best for the future

    • Thanks Anthony for your very kind comments – hope you are enjoying late Summer, early autumn in New Zealand – I will continue with the esk podcasts and I will definitely pass your comments on to George and Andy

  12. I live in Australia and have listened to this podcast since its inception.
It’s always been a highlight to listen to.
From the thoughtful opening music tracks, to the intelligent conversation and Georges struggle to avoid swearing I’ve loved every minute.
I hope in the future you have a change of heart and resume in some form.
Either way thank you to you all for your wisdom.

  13. Thank you Paul, George and Andy for all the passion, insight, and heart you’ve shared over the years. Listening each week felt like sitting down with family —your voices always brought back memories of my listening to my Everton loving father and grandfather, both long passed, and made me feel a little closer to them. You’ve meant more to us than you probably know. Thanks for everything.

  15. A real shame. I always looked forward to the podcast, win or lose. Also the insights into the financial machinations of the last 6 years and more gave me a balanced view of the Kenwright and Moshiri debacle that I didn’t really get anywhere else. I’d have been happy for you to continue with your joint take on the “modern” game if only to keep a counterpoint to the sycophancy that the PL enjoys across the mainstream media. I guess the harm to your blood pressure would have been too much. 😂

  16. A recent podcast follower and have to say I’m gutted that you have decided to call it a day but understand the feelings about the modern game. I, like Paul am not ready to give up on it yet. It may be my recent visit to the goodison tour that helped get my Everton mojo back.
    (Perhaps a suggestion for George?)

Anyway I just wanted to pass on my thanks for the considered opinions and weekly laugh out load moments that have definitely helped us Evertonians cope with Evertons recent history.

Hopefully a few specials in the future once the trophy’s start coming in under the Friedkins

All the best to the three of you.

  17. Bloody hell. Ive been checking every Sunday/Monday, i’ve just realised you lads are finished (I thought it was just George !!). Surely a one off special for BMD should be aired. All legends you lads. UTT.
