  1. Good evening gents.

Manager of the Month for April starts with the well earned draw at Newcastle, includes Chelsea and ends with a week of sheer joy. I think the very reason that we were battered at Chelsea is the very reason Dyche absolutely deserves that honour.

I really want to mention the 1878’s here too. As a fanbase we have been pulled apart, kicked, punched and left in the gutter. The way this season has unfolded, going to the game has been a real grind. Their investment from the crowd funding and the way they wisely chose to spend it, has been inspirational and I applaud every one of them 👏👏👏.

Like Dyche and his scouse tracky, my wife and I changed the face on our 🍏 watch to Rupert’s Tower. It worked and it remains until the end of the season and will return for next. The statue of Dixie got two taps on his right boot – that’s staying too – Why tempt fate.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Iddy Gaye at the Titianic when he resigned. He was with his wife and kids, staying there along with Onana. He was happy to talk to this humble fan and he was chuffed to be back and ready to go. We have an option of a further 12 months on this fella and I’d be amazed if we don’t take it up.

To end this week long run, after the Brentford game, I was in my car at Goodison when
Jo Parkinson emerged with a huge smile on his face talking on his phone. I thrust my hand out of the window and smiled at him and he diverted across the road to shake it enthusiastically and then gave me the thumbs up. He still looks like he could do a job in midfield. Made my day.

The only thing I want to see from James Garner is a little more confidence in his own abilities. He has all the attributes to run our midfield.

Tell George that the modern socks are designed to be pressure socks (like wearing them on a plane). Some players don’t like the additional pressure so they cut the backs out.

I watched on when Chermitti was subbed and to a man, the entire team clapped him off. That tells me all I need to know about his potential.

Dreamland now only looks like a 5-10yr plan with steady growth. Inevitably that means finding, playing and then selling a stream of players like Branthwaite until such time that we are in Europe, win something silver and relegation becomes a distant nightmare.

One thing I’ve noticed is that some fans internal calendars are a little off!!! I see lots of references to EFC going into BMD in the PL, as if we’ve magically arrived at this time in 2025. If something doesn’t change for the positive that is still optimistic. We have the last season at the Grand Old Lady and that does not guarantee us going to BMD as a PL team. Something has to change for us to actually enjoy the last season at Goodison and then, and only then, look forward to BMD.

Now, Moshiri isn’t interested in Branthwaite or any other football assets at EFC other than their ££ value.

    Regards

    Keith

  2. It was emotional on Saturday. Certainly for me and I didn’t have my inhaler. I think we’ve just done enough and credit to the manager and players overcoming the circus going on around them.

On we march to Luton and then Sheffield United at Goodison. I’d still like a few more points in the bank in case the Premier League come back at us.

Then we can relax and go to the Emirates and take our customary beating. It’s one fixture I’ve never had great experiences with. But you never know.

  3. Interesting article from the BBC with frightening parallels to Everton’s situation. I think we often look at German football with its fan ownership model and consider it ibetter run than the English game. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/ckr5yy29k82o

As a side question – following the incredible week that Everton had results wise and the the gap now being 11 points back to Luton. Assuming additional points are picked up on Friday and in the game v Sheffield United if the gap back to Luton remains over 9 points before the Arsenal game would it not be worth Everton going into administration? Making the big assumption that the penalty would be 9 points (based on precedent with Portsmouth) and the deduction would be enforced this season, so would not lead to relegation? I am no financial expert so don’t know what other negative consequences this would have but presumably it would make the club potentially more attractive to other buyers and potentially allow them to restructure the various loans and debt?

  4. I thought the same Peacock and commented similar on Paul’s previous article, or rather I thought I had. Paul and yourself seem to be more mathematically literate than me for some reason as I would have exposed us administration too early and put us at risk of relegation depending on results of the last three games.

I’m not embarrassed by it, but I was in quite a low Maths class at school, myself and my small friend Farhad never quite mastered the basics

If we did embark on that course of action. I somehow think the Premier League would actively contest our appeal and miraculously find time to set up a hearing for interest payments with pressure for further points deduction applied for this season.

You are right to shine a light as bright as you can Paul regarding the ownership of the club, we all have a responsibility to. I think Moshiri thinks he’s wasted 700m, why can’t someone come in and pay him a few million over the odds, why does everyone who is super rich have to be so professional, business like and mercenary about it! It only money you can’t take it with you.

  5. Hi Guys
Love the podcast, noticed you didn’t do one after the Luton game and just waiting on one following the Sheffield United game when is this coming
    Thanks
