Talking the Blues Podcast – 1st test event Bramley-Moore & infrastructure

Welcome to a bonus edition of Talking the Blues Podcast with George and Andy Costigan. We look back on the opening of the incredible Bramley-Moore stadium – something the club and architect, Dan Meis must take great credit for, before delving into all the supporting infrastructure and transport requirements which will make match day travelling equal to the match experience within the stadium. It will also justify the investment and provide a catalyst to the economic growth desperately needed.

The Talking the Blues Podcast is available, as always, free of charge and advertising on all major podcast platforms, links to which can be found here

As ever thanks for listening – or reading, the transcript will be available tomorrow

  1. Transport is a major issue but you can’t get back to London after a night game from Goodison so why is that relevant to BM ?

  2. I know this was the first test event for the stadium, and I understand there are bound to be initial teething issues, but what you – and many others – have described in relation to travel, access and departure beggars belief. Unlike Goodison, and most stadia, which can be accessed from 360⁰ all angles, BMD has water on one side, inaccessible docks to the north and south, one major road, and less than 180⁰ access. The powers that be have known about this challenge for over 4 years. It’s embarrassing. There should have been tram links, a new station, a dedicated access road alongside the river, taxi ranks, bike paths, car parking and a well lit walkway. Pitiful from all parties concerned, especially LCC. Someone needs to get a grip.
