  1. Taking all of Paul’s arguments into account in a brave defence, can we really argue that Moyes picked a balanced side and a winning combination of midfield players? Neither Gana, Tim or Kieran are holding midfield players (only Garner can really play that role with discipline), the combination had not played together before and it transpired none showed the leadership to stand firm against the expected Leeds onslaught. If we also once again add that Alcaraz cannot play wide right as he has no pace, does not track back well and is weak in the tackle and that Beto has had a dreadful pre-season, Moyes picked a poor team and the football played in that first half was the worst I saw all weekend. I can accept a narrow defeat away to a promoted Leeds but I cannot accept a team that cannot operate as a team. Clearly, it is not all Moyes fault but he should not escape criticism.

  2. “We carry no threat” never has a truer sentence been said George!

I had the misfortune of watching the game (despite how awful it was) and it looked like we might as well have picked 11 people from the crowd to play in terms of knowing each other. They played liked they hadn’t seen each other.

    Sunderland’s team have actually
Played together for a few weeks but were so much more of a team and knew their roles.

I believe a big issue is Moyes “premier league proven” desire for 1st teamers and yet Bournemouth, Brighton, Brentford, Forest all buck that trend. Why? Because it’s flawed and outdated.

If we don’t make some big changes we are in, yet another, massive relegation struggle and then next summer players won’t want to join us again. The transfer market is dynamic and yet our approach seems to be static.

Plus ca change, plus c’est la meme chose
