  1. Happy New Year fellas.

I don’t see that incident as a DCL “challenge” he was recovering a free bouncing ball. Clyne makes a last ditch effort to do the same and sticks his foot out creating a minor contact. After that we get the usual theatrics. DCL recovers a ball that was his to recover all day long. Clyne’s attempt creates the contact.

I can’t agree with a conspiracy theory covering decades but I can agree with an anti EFC conspiracy based on refs collectively NOT liking to ref a game at Goodison. With a conscious bias from the PL to not intervene supported by a general support to the top six because that’s where they see the money and development of the product. Any chance to put EFC back in the box – home or away is taken.

I haven’t heard ANY negative comments about DCL. I have heard one Echo so-called expert outlining why it was given but still described it as very harsh. Keith HACKETT ex ref and head of refs was on TalkSport saying we need to apologise to DCL for what he deemed to be a lawful challenge. Failure to do so would see the game lost – his words not mine.

We see Liverpool’s two penalties described by pundits as “there’s contact there” and then Beto being hugged tightly from behind as “not enough for me”. How on earth do you navigate that. However, we would probably reap as much as we sew with those sort of incidents but I’d be happy with a strict consistent approach either way.

Not debating 777 – in a decade that has seen us find a billionaire, ruin a club, lose a fortune, have 10 points deducted, lose a billionaire, perform lousy despite the investment, this, this remains the ONE thing that stands out at the very top of awful decisions. When I think of the promises made by Moshiri when he joined us, this decision to pass EFC onto 777 is and always was going to be akin to him spitting at us right in the face and I am convinced they 777 are far far worse than any of the multiple horrendous reports we have already seen about them.

There have been some independent and perhaps reliable players making reference to talking to Kevin Thelwell without a deal being offered. This of course is exactly in accordance with KT preparing for new transfers.

    Regards

    Keith

  2. A thoughtful piece as usual and I suspect that 777 are borrowing the money to reloan to EFC, meaning the club are paying usurious rates of interest.
I am constantly asked by friends why EFC is not a target for wealthy investors and I have to shrug my shoulders. Maybe the financial world knows matters we poor supporters don’t?
