Talking the Blues Podcast – Kevin Campbell R.I.P., the Friedkin takeover-edited

In a lengthy and at times emotional tribute to Kevin Campbell, Talking the Blues Podcast tries to put into words the sense of loss surrounding such a beautiful man and soul in Kevin Campbell. We send our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. We then switch to the most significant Everton related news since Moshiri took over 8 and a half years ago, the Friedkin takeover. Thanks for all your questions on social media – I think we answered them all.

Please note: The original audio contained content that I was asked to remove, which I have now done so both from the transcript and the audio file. As ever thanks for listening –  or reading, the transcript will be released tomorrow..

  1. Good listen as always.

The fixtures are out tomorrow, so we can start planning.

I’m already getting upset about leaving Goodison. From the cradle, she has been with me and a huge part in my life.

We should look forward to the takeover. We need it and also being run like a business. For a club of our stature, we have failed on the marketing side for decades. We stood still.

Capitalise on the size and potential of our club.

Meanwhile, I just want to see who we’re playing on the first day of the season.

  2. Friedkin WONT be buying Everton unfortunately as he feels the debt is to high and is worried on how the club don’t make enough money year on year. Also Moshiri has made terms extremely difficult and is an incredibly hard man to get a hold of and negotiate with as he is just not interested in what happens to Everton sadly. Worrying times for the club extremely worrying. A-Cap are likely to own the club in the next month or so. Thanks 💙
