Welcome to this week’s Talking the Blues Podcast with Andy and George Costigan. We spend a little bit over an hour pondering on the factors behind Everton’s future success, are the number of English players relevant and finally communications, should the Friedkins be doing more?

As always, our podcasts are free from subscription or advertising and are available on all major platforms! The transcript will be available  tomorrow.

Spot on regards Delap, there’s gotta be better players for similar funds. I wasn’t too bothered about not getting him.
I’m hoping we get a mixture of young hungry quality players and maybe some experienced winners

Thank you boys for another, thought provoking, podcast.
I totally agree with the ethical train of thought in not having betting company sponsors – our sponsors should have known, high, ethical standards – we are Everton – we have Everton In The Community Standards and should continue to develop them world wide.
To play football like the PSG team of today – I remember when Everton did play flowing, speedy and beautiful football – yes I am old, very old, I was born in 1940 so have seen the good, bad and the recent, pre- Moyes return, downright diabolical BUT always remember the times we swept everyone off the park only to be denied further achievements by circumstances beyond our control.
I’m also with the idea of aiming for more British players in any team but then it would deny us the pleasure of watching Iliman, Idrissa and Mr Alcaraz and the very best bargain, Seamus Coleman.
    Ah well, that’s football.
Keep up the podcasts please Paul, it’s a good way of getting accurate news !

An interesting podcast with some very good arguments made by you all. Agree about the sponsorship side of things as well. I would also like the replica shirts available without sponsorship names for adults, I know the children shirts don’t have sponsors names. Also agree that we need the club to speak to the supporters now, we should have moved away from the Moshiri era of no communication, but have we?
