Talking the Blues Podcast, 31st May 2026 & revolution is in the air

Welcome to this week’s Talking the Blues Podcast with George and Andy Costigan. Not yet two weeks into the close season and talk of revolution fills the corridors of power within Talking the Blues. A wide ranging and (I think) very interesting conversation about the values of the modern game and the role of fans.

As ever, thanks for listening, Talking the Blues is available subscription and advert free on all major podcast platforms.

  1. Listened to the podcast and regarding what fans could do I point towards the German fans albeit they have different ownership rules brought on by fans, however so many of their prolonged and prolific actions certainly aided their fans up to date ie. No Monday night football for eg. Security surveillance too. Surely the fans in the EPL and the Championship would put a lot more pressure on the fa and the Premier league as being a bigger and stronger voice in our arguments with far more damage to the Premier league product worldwide?

  2. The Owners of Everton FC should have dismissed David Moyes after the final whistle of the Spurs game.

Decisive action could have been taken but NO, we let some other team show us “how” it’s done.

Thank you David, the team must now go in a different direction with a younger Manager.

  3. Listening again to the frustrations on the podcast from you all, I’d add my own frustration concerning three young players who have cost Everton FC about £66 million pounds and are very rarely, or never, seen playing in the first team, or as far as I know, in any team. Do they still play Reserve Games – I don’t know ?

    Nathan Patterson £16m
    Adam Aznou £10m
    Tyler Dibling £40m

I just hope that we have a Coaching Staff who are highly qualified and capable of bringing these players up to the Premier League standard.

They don’t seem to have helped Nathan Patterson and he will probably have to leave in order to advance his career. ( He’s in Scotland Team for the World Cup though ! )

As a lifelong Everton supporter, it would be of interest to have a Report, say every three months, from the Head of Coaching about the progress of such players and the progress of injured players.
A brief passing comment from the Manager on a pre-match slot is not good enough.

Maybe there is such a report but it’s not on my Everton Member app. !

Will we ever hear from the club Owners of their intentions to Make Everton Great Again !
